Easy Snacks on the Go

You’re running out the door to work.

The kids are leaving for school.

Your spouse is off to the gym and then run errands.

There’s no time to sit down and prepare a nourishing snack to carry you until the next meal.

And you REALLY don’t want to hit the snack machines because that always leaves you feeling sluggish and somewhat unsettled…

Here are 7 EASY and nourishing SNACK ideas that will have you out the door in no time:

1.  Nuts and Nut Butter


Whats your preference?

Almonds.  You can’t beat the convenience of  Grab and Go Bags, or these, they fit in your cup holder!

Almond Butter.  I love these individual serving packets with a cucumber or some celery!

Cashews.  These are raw and unsalted.

Pecans.  These are raw and unsalted.

Macadamia nuts, these super convenient snack size bags fit anywhere!

No matter.  They are all portable and don’t need refrigeration. What’s more, they pack a BIG nutritional punch with loads of protein and healthy fat.

2.  Fruit


Lots of fruit come in their own wrapper and don’t require refrigeration.  Just rinse and go!

  • Mandarin oranges (fit in your purse)
  • Grapes
  • Apples (slices if you have the time!)
  • Banana
  • Cut melon
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Plums
  • Cherries
  • Peach
  • Nectarine

3.  Veggies


Just like fruit, they come in their own wrapper and don’t require refrigeration.  Just rinse and go!

  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Snap Peas
  • Celery Sticks
  • Baby Carrots
  • Mini Peppers (all the seeds are at the stem, so there’s no prep necessary)
  • String Beans
  • Cucumbers (eat like a pickle!)

4.  Hard Boiled Eggs


Very handy!  Hard boiled eggs are already prepackaged!


5.  Nitrate-Free Sliced Meat


I’m hesitant to say Cold-Cuts because what I’m referring to is the slices of roast beef or turkey that they slice for you at the deli counter.

Always make sure you ask for Nitrate-Free! Wrap your slices around a pickle for a refreshing and filling snack.

6.  Individual Servings of Hummus or Guacamole

These go great with your portable veggies!  My kids bring these to school with mini peppers.

Read the labels!  Organic is best.  But, these individual servings have wholesome ingredients, are preservative-free and don’t need refrigeration.

Avoid any that have soybean oil and any form of sugar.

7.  Nicks-Sticks
